Review procedure

PROCEDURE FOR PEER REVIEW OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES SUBMITTED TO THE JOURNAL “BULLETIN OF THE BRANCH OF LOMONOSOV MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY IN DUSHANBE”

Articles submitted to the Editorial Office undergo a preliminary review conducted by members of the Editorial Board who are specialists in the relevant field of science and are accepted in accordance with the established procedure. Requirements for the preparation of manuscript originals are published in each issue of the journal.

All manuscripts submitted to the Editorial Office must be original works. When referring to the works of other authors, accuracy in citation and proper source attribution must be strictly observed. The Editorial Office does not accept articles that are being prepared for publication or have already been published in other journals or editions.

If a manuscript is accepted for further consideration, the Editorial Office informs the author of any comments regarding the content and formatting of the article. These comments must be addressed before the manuscript is sent for peer review.

Subsequently, all articles are subject to mandatory peer review by members of the Editorial Board or experts in the relevant specialty holding Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Sciences degrees.

The review must contain a reasoned assessment of the article’s merits, including:

– scientific novelty of the topic;

– relevance and significance of the research problem;

– factual and historical value;

– accuracy of citations;

– quality of presentation and writing style;

– use of up-to-date sources;

as well as a substantiated description of any shortcomings identified in the manuscript.

The review concludes with an overall evaluation of the article and recommendations to the Editorial Board, including:

– acceptance for publication;

– acceptance after revision;

– referral for additional review by a specialist in a particular field;

– rejection.

The review should be no less than one page in length.

An article accepted for publication but requiring revision is returned to the author together with the reviewer’s and editor’s comments. Authors must make all necessary corrections to the final version of the manuscript and submit the revised text, its identical electronic version, and the original manuscript to the Editorial Office.

After revision, the article undergoes a second review, and the Editorial Board makes a final decision regarding publication. An article is considered accepted for publication only if it receives a positive review and is supported by the members of the Editorial Board.

The order and sequence of publication are determined according to the date on which the final version of the manuscript is received.

The peer-review process is conducted confidentially. Disclosure of confidential information related to manuscript review constitutes a violation of the author’s rights. Reviewers are not permitted to make copies of manuscripts for personal use. Reviewers and members of the Editorial Board may not use information contained in a manuscript for their own benefit prior to its publication.
